Legacy Equipment. This essence was retired in the Bloodied Jewel update and removed from the active drop pool. Existing copies can still be equipped and inherited, but the legendary effect is no longer active.
Corpse Explosion no longer consumes corpses and instead consumes the Fear on enemies to conjure spirits that seek out targets, damaging any they touch. The spirits prioritize seeking out Feared enemies, consuming it to conjure more spirits.
